Livonia's Bicentennial Field was enjoying the smooth jazz being played in the triumphant return of Kenny G to the mound. As Kenny kept everything easy going while allowing just 3 over the minimum in 6 stellar innings. He quickly became contagious as the Woodpecker bats came to life and the defensive leather was flashing strong with 4 double plays turned.
Those dancing to Kenny's beat included Chris Grant for 4 runs scored and 3 hits, Dave Marvin with multiple hits and RBI, clutch timely hitting from Claude for 2 rbi who also caught a strong game, Mike Lane fought and scratched his way to 2 runs scored, and Frank Rometty who got confused and took a couple of hits at the plate instead of delivering them. Frank is an early leader for the Rudy Stein taking it for the team award. Of course Kenny marches to his own beat with 3 hits, 3 runs scored, and 2 rbi.
