Giants season comes to an end in another championship run. When any team is a perennial championship series contender, others become envious of what they haven't experienced. Players have changed yearly and aged for the Giants over the years but one thing has been a constant.... being in the championship 10 out of 13 years, with a series record of 7-3.... every now and then a squirrel finds a nut as the Yankees did winning their first championship in their first appearance. Give Credit where credit is due...losing game one convincingly to the Giants, the Yankees looked defeated like they lost their swag....even AFTER the game ended with a L, a certain manager and fans were questioning a Giant reliever that closed out for a W in game 1 asking for his license but not really asking for his license... come to find out he was the pitcher on the license and on the roster, and played in 7-8 games on the season and yes he was hanging out on Woodward thinkng the cruise was still going on and forgot his jersey...talk about digging for lost hope ???? Side note: certain manager that said don't worry about it, then proceeds to chirp about it after on recap..that makes sense ??????... the Yankees had no other option but to go to their pitcher that was 12-0 on the season for the final 2 games of the series...tip your cap, he made the timely pitches and got more than timely defense in both games....when a certain ace gets bounced by 3 different Giant teams in 3 previous playoff years you start to have daddy issue feelings, winning the first one is rewarding. Congrats...side note: two games in a row with 6 days in between games, very ???? On the scheduling of a championship series by the league....allowing more than enough rest for a pitcher to go again in a series... with other rested Yankee staff going a combined modest 9-4-3 on the season to watch games 2 and 3....Just enough for a series win against a Giant team that made crucial mistakes in both games gift wrapping a rare finals loss....
side note: another team effort from players that wore the Giant jerseys this season. It's great to see a group of teammates that contribute not only on the field but with the team "fundraiser" that helps fuel costs for everyone to play.
** The old saying...waking any sleeping Giants young or older is not advisable
