Cardinals Late Comeback ends in a Walkoff Win
Juan Hammond delivered a 2-out, 2-run walkoff double in the bottom of the 7th to propel the Cardinals to a 5-4 victory over the Orioles. Ed Pevos pitched a complete game, striking out 7 and working out of a bases loaded no out jam in the 4th inning to keep the game scoreless at the time. The Orioles broke through in the 5th, scoring 2 runs, then added 2 more in the 6th to make it 4-0. The Cards answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to make it 4-3, which set the table for the bottom of the 7th. Hammond's 3rd hit of the game, a deep drive to left center with 2 outs completed the comeback as Mark Ehgotz and Ryan Kelly scored the tying and winning runs.

Cardinals Use Pitching & Power in Win Over Mud Hens
Ryan Noward hurled a complete game 3-hit shutout, striking out 10 batters, as the Cardinals beat the Mud Hens, 6-0 Tuesday night at Hazel Park. It took awhile for the Cardinal bats to shake off the rust after a 9-day haitus as the game was scoreless until the 5th inning. Darrin Clark was 2-2 with a walk and 2 RBI and Adam Barrett launched a 2-run bomb onto Woodward Heights to give Noward all the cushion he would need in his best performance of the season. The Cards tacked on another run in the 7th when Ed Pevos (who showed up the wrong uniform, but rescued from total embarrassment thanks to Rob Chafin's jersey) singled home Clint Berryman who had tripled. Berryman also drove in the Cardinals' first run. The Cards will next play the Orioles at Capitol Park on Thursday night.
